100 years after the first women got the right to vote, we have made huge progress in advancing women’s rights, but there is still a long way to go.
Marking the Centenary, Councillor Lesley Rennie said: "The Centenary is a key moment in our history and the women who fought, and died would be proud of what we have achieved so far but it is a work in progress.
"Today, fewer than 1 in 3 MPs are women and 90% of executives in our top companies are male.
"The last 100 years has seen massive social change - for everyone, women included - but there is still much more to do."
